Wetlands are the third most important life suport system on Earth.
This is the findings of the IUCN. Even more important is the life suport it provides to the sealine lake systems.
If the wetlands stop feeding the lake with a constant supply of fresh water the lake is under presure of turning into a salt pan. The constant feeding of fresh water to the lake keeps the sealine conditions in the lake stable.
Due to the vast extend of the lake and its shallowness it is very prone to evaporation.
