The Hippo Cruise is 2 - 2.5 hours long and the captains steer their crafts close to the pods for good photography. Sometimes when the Hippo’s are grumpy they will steer clear of the pod, since their are many hippo in the Estuary they are bond to find a placid pod that will allow the cruise boat to get close.
Since the boats are very shallow draft they can get real close to the banks and mangroves. This means that you get really close to the weaver birds, kingfishers and docile crocodiles and capture that important memories on film(digital) for your grand children to enjoy for generations to come.
