One of the Five integrated Eco Systems the Estuary is the most dynamic of them all. The estuary is only functioning as an estuary when the mouth is linked to the ocean.
Most of Estuariine life is tidal dependand and they are almost all Marine creatures.
The St. Lucia Estuary is about 21km long narrow channel from the ocean to Brodies Crossing. This every changing system is under great pressure from argriculture, climate changes and human impact.
